In the games held at night, the Arena’s lawn is lit by a series of 190 floodlights. In the rest of the stadium, the lighting is made with fluorescent lamps and has separate controls for each area: circulation, shops, halls, parking lot.
The system keeps itself working with the power generated by the local power company (Copel). However, in a case of a power outage, a set of batteries is instantly activated. This aid system stores enough power to keep the stadium’s lighting up for another one and a half hour.
So, even without power in the network that feeds the neighborhood, the elevators keep working. Even if the power outage lasts long, this is enough to ensure that all of the public can get out before the system is deactivated.
